Volley Marcianise finished in second place in the Sant’Antioco memorial ‘Giacomo Cabras’ quadrangular, losing 3-0 to Consoli Brescia in the final. Regardless of the result, it remains a truly encouraging performance for Vincenzo Nacci’s men who applauds his team for the two days in Sardinia: “First of all we wanted to help the group grow by keeping them together for 48 hours because it is important at this stage of the season. It was a useful experience that certainly did us good. Against Cus Cagliari we played really excellent volleyball against an opponent of the same category. It was difficult against Brescia because they have a totally different rhythm, starting with the speed of the ball. But I saw interesting things today too but we need to improve on many other aspects, counterattacking first of all because we create situations but then we have to be more clear-headed in putting the ball on the ground. On Friday I saw excellent things in the serve, in the block and in the ball exchange. Now two days of rest and then from Tuesday we will go back to working as we were doing.” In the month that marks the start of the championship, the coach has positive feelings: “In terms of team spirit, it’s what I expected and wanted. We are good together, we are cohesive but we must learn to be together even in moments when things are not going well. It’s something that is acquired over time and probably from November we will be able to play it with anyone regardless of the opponent. However, without ever forgetting that we must achieve the goal of salvation.”
