The Italian-Argentine spiker arrives in the Marche for the first time and adds experience to the red and white roster. Born in 1993, Zornetta began his career at Boca Juniors but in Argentina he wore several Serie A shirts as well as that of the national team and won important team and personal prizes: in 2010 he won the Argentina ACLAV Cup, in 2014 the bronze in the Panamericana, at the 2012 U21 South American Championship he was awarded for the best reception, then won gold at the South American Games and the ACLAV Desafio Cup in 2018. Abba Pineto took him to Italy in the 2020/2021 season, then moved to Sabaudia where he remained until the last championship, always in Serie A3.
This is your fourth season in Italy but your first in the Marche region, “I’m happy to be part of a historic club like that of Macerata”, confirms Lucho Zornetta, “I still remember the Banca Macerata Forum when I played there for a friendly my first year in Italy, it is a beautiful and important arena for Italian volleyball. I arrive in an ambitious project, he also spoke at length with coach Castellano, about the objectives that the team has set for itself, about the type of volleyball we want to bring to the field “. In the past championships you have had the opportunity to clash several times with some of the newcomers in Macerata, “With Casaro and Marsili we played many times in the Blue Group when I was in Sabaudia. I spoke with Marsili during the negotiation to come to Macerata and I’m very happy to find him again and get to know the rest of the team.”
