Monday of rest and recovery for Sir Safety Susa Perugia.
Fresh from yesterday’s great victory in Trento, the thirty-second of the season in all competitions, the Block Devils have a day of physical and mental unloading at their disposal. All called up by coach Anastasi for tomorrow afternoon at the PalaBarton when a session of physical and technical work will kick off a new week.
Yesterday’s match at the BLM Group Arena has meanwhile brought great enthusiasm and awareness to Sir Safety Susa. The success achieved at the end of a tight, difficult, beautiful match in large stretches, in a sold out sports hall and against a great team, pays tribute to the performance in Perugia which, despite from a strictly numerical point of view, has nothing more to ask the regular season, continues to offer his game and his qualities every Sunday in all fields of the boot.
If coach Anastasi praises the group’s mental qualities (“It was a game of great intensity that was very useful for us. We had worked hard all week, both physically and technically, in anticipation of the Coppa Italia and perhaps we were a little less brilliant than usual, but this team has the great ability to stay attached to the game even in times of difficulty”, the coach thought), the usual clear and calm examination is that of the libero Massimo Colaci.
“In my opinion, in the first part of the match both we and they made perhaps too many mistakes, then the level rose a bit on both sides in all the fundamentals and the match became more spectacular. It’s a great victory for us because winning in Trento is always challenging. We have been good, patient, we have suffered, but we bring home another one which, having arrived in this way, gives us even more morale and really prepares us for what will be the Final Outside of the Italian Cup because we have encountered some difficulties, and with Piacenza in the semifinal being a straight match we will find even more, but winning was important for our awareness. Furthermore, yesterday in Trento we found a full arena, with warm and very correct cheering and this too will be useful for the upcoming part of the season because we know that, as happens to our opponents when they come to the PalaBarton, we will also have to be able to deal with the pressure public that we will find away as it should be”.
