He arrived in Fano at the age of 7 and began attending the Nuti/Poderino school, slowly he approached the first headquarters of Virtus Fano (San Pio X), from where it all started: Paolo Tofoli, new coach of the Virtus Vigilar Fano, speaks proudly of his very first years in the City of Fortune: “I was the Italian champion with middle school and then I followed the usual process that took me to Serie B where I played for three years and had coach also Ennio Schiavoni, current technical director”. The rest is history: first as a player, thanks to whom he won everything and then from 2010 as a coach: “I carry with me – continues Tofoli – an important cultural background, especially as regards the A2 and A3 championships (Brolo, Tuscania, Siena, Alessano and San Donà) and now in Fano where it all began”. Beautiful sensations but also great responsibility for the season to come: “I’ve always hoped – comments Tofoli – maybe in the future, one day, I’ll also train in Fano and this happened. I have many friends here and the sensations are certainly different compared to coaching other places. If we then consider the fact that in Fano there is a great volleyball tradition and people are hungry for great volleyball”. Paolo Tofoli will have a “special” technical-management staff (all still to be revealed…..) and a staff which, according to the new coach from Virtus, will have the following characteristics: “Tough, hard-working team with the aim of reach the right alchemy as soon as possible to make a high-level championship. The teams that will face us will have to be aware that they will be facing a team that never gives up and is hungry for success. I know that the responsibility is high but I’m sure a level roster will be set up ready to do well and have fun”.
