Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, the only SuperLega Credem Banca team remaining in the running in the CEV Champions League 2023, is preparing for the Semi-finals, where it is awaited by the double confrontation with the two-time European Champions of Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle.

Fresh from Sunday’s victory against Allianz Milano in Game 3 of the Quarter Finals, the Bianconeri of Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia are in Poland for the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. In the afternoon and tomorrow in the morning, President Sirci’s boys will carry out the usual pre-match finishing touches in the Azoty Kędzierzyn-Koźle sports hall, venue for the game, tomorrow evening at 20.30, with live TV on Eurosport 2 and live streaming on discovery+, kick-off of the match against the hosts of Zaksa, the bi-champions in charge of the event.

Facing the Block Devils is Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle, winner of the last two Finals of the CEV Champions League and team capable of eliminating Trentino Itas in the Quarter Finals at the Golden Set. Sammelvuo, the Finnish coach who sits on the Polish bench, should start the match with the well-tested formation of the last period with the Poland setter Janusz in the direction, the other Polish international Kaczmarek opposite, the giant from the Polish national team Huber and the American international Smith in the center of the net, American free player Shoji leading the second line and the all-Polish duo formed by Sliwka and former Modena and Kazan Bednorz as receivers. Even the duo of SIR’s starting spikers could be of a Polish nature, with the former Kamil Semeniuk (who grew up in the ranks of Kedzierzyn-Kozle since the youth sector) and Captain Wilfredo Leon.

On the other side of the draw will be Jastrzebski Wegiel (who eliminated VfB Friedrichshafen in the Quarterfinals with a double 3-0) and Halkbank Ankara, a team that ousted Cucine Lube Civitanova in the Golden Set. Up for grabs is a place in the Super Finals scheduled in Turin on Saturday 20 May at the Pala Alpitour. The return Semifinals will see Perugia host the Poles at the PalaBarton on Thursday 6 April, while the other Semifinal will be played on Wednesday 5th.
