The preseason of Cucine Lube Civitanova continues with positive indications, for the en plein of three victories, for the dedication with which the group assimilates the indications of the staff and because, despite the pace spoiled by the workloads, the rotations put in place by Chicco Blengini have created an enterprising game, with athletes who are good at coming out of difficult situations. Thus came yesterday, Friday 15 September, the 3-1 comeback in the joint training of the Eurosuole Forum with the Sieco Service Ortona.

Romano Giannini (second coach): “The first positive factor is continuity. In fact we achieved the third victory in as many matches. Against Ortona, compared to previous tests, we noticed a bit of tiredness in our players. After a month of athletic training we are satisfied, but the aspects that coach Blengini has been pushing for since day one have satisfied us. So ‘well done’ even if the performance was less brilliant than the previous ones. After missing the friendly match in Recanati as a precaution, Ivan Zaytsev took to the field with Ortona because his recovery is now complete. At the Pala Cingolani-Pierini we were very sorry not to field him and I know that the many fans present were hoping to see him play live. Next Monday the fifth week of preparation will open with the Tsar in full swing.”

Enrico Diamantini: “The one against Sieco Service was a good weekend match as were the other matches close to the weekend. Perhaps we lacked a bit of clarity compared to the face-to-face matches with Pineto and Grottazzolina, especially in the first set. We made a lot of mistakes at the start, then we fought point to point and, although we caught them, it wasn’t enough to prevail in the opening part of the race. In the remaining three sets we raised the level and achieved a 3-1 comeback. We were a little lacking in shot selection and this led to a few too many mistakes also linked to tiredness from the after-effects of athletic work in the gym. This is physiological and we have to compensate with something else on the pitch. My walls? We all work hard to help the team. If at the end of the match my blocks made the difference, in other situations the shots of my teammates were decisive. For example, the ground ball put by Motzo in the third set at 24-23, after the opponents had recovered an important ball. So good!”.
