In front of 5296 spectators (sold out), Milan brought the scores of the series back to a draw and found success in Game 2 of the Semifinal Scudetto by imposing the tie break on the Italian champions of Cucine Lube Civitanova (25-18, 20-25, 25 -21, 21-25, 15-9). Roberto Piazza’s team takes a run up and manages to capitalize on the second best-of-five challenge by asserting themselves with grit and determination over Blengini’s men. That Allianz that made you dream during the quarter-final series responds tonight at the Allianz Cloud: the numbers are reversed in the parts in game 2, Piano and his companions excel in service and in attack, rediscovering their strength in the break phase by capitalizing 9 walls with Piano and Loser (6 in two). If an excellent Patry who scores 19 points, the MVP takes it from the Japanese hammer Ishikawa who ends with 20 winning balls, 1 ace, 1 block. Great direction by Paolo Porro who also brings Mergarejo and Loser into double figures. Central defender Chinenyeze, Zaytsev, Nikolov and Yant score double figures in Lube.
MVP: Yuki Ishikawa (Allianz Milan)

Roberto Piazza (coach Allianz Milano): “Without lacking in presumption, I believe that our Semifinal has begun today. The players have been able to put their technique, tactics, heart and emotion into play. An emotion also driven by the 5296 spectators who they continued to encourage our team, without ever losing heart. Now we can say that we are on the same level as Civitanova, we have to recover our energy as they have to recover it, we have to study the matches at the same time as they have. It will be a match to the last round and we will have to go to the points for sure, we are here to deliver the knockout blow”.

Barthelemy Chinenyeze (Allianz Milano): “We started badly both the first set and the decisive tie break, this is what made the difference and this is what we have to work on. The situation is now perfectly equal, the imperative is to start again in Race 3 in our palas. I hope to see it as full and warm as it was last Thursday.”

All uphill for Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza in the Semifinal series of the Scudetto Play Offs. Game 2 was won by Itas Trentino in just under two hours of play and now the World Vice-Champion line-up is ahead two to zero in the series. On Wednesday in Trento he will have the first match ball to reach the Final. The deficit serve of the red and white team was the balance of this match: 27 errors in 4 sets with only 2 aces scored. And although at the end of the match the attack of the red and white was more fruitful than that of the Trentino players (52% against 45%) the match was won by the more concrete guests from the nine-metre line and in counterattack. It was played in a sold out PalabancaSport, a great show in the stands with the fans cheering on the team right up to the last exchange. Badly lost the first set, in the second half the final result was weighed down by Piacenza’s eight serving errors which, despite a 61% in attack against 50% of Trentino players, had to raise the flag. Won the third well, the match seemed to reopen but in the fourth set Trento raised the bar in attack while Piacenza still committed 8 errors in serve and three in attack against Trento’s four wrong serves with zero errors in attack.

MVP: Riccardo Sbertoli (Itas Trentino)

Antoine Brizard (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza): “Aside from the serve, other things didn’t work, at the start of the game a couple of attacks that came out very little gave morale to Trento and we started to struggle. Now we have another opportunity to extend this series and we will play it to the end, during the season we had ups and downs, but we deserved to be here, we have already recovered the series once, we will try again ”.

Angelo Lorenzetti (Itas Trentino coach): “The match was played with greater intensity by both teams compared to Game 1; we were very good at holding the ball especially in the second set, when we couldn’t put the ball on the ground continuously. The victory is very important and beautiful, but we can only celebrate it for a handful of hours because already from midnight we will have to think about Game 3, knowing full well that the history of the Play Offs teaches us not to take anything for granted and especially against this Piacenza , which has already been able to recover from a similar situation in the quarterfinals against Modena. We move forward with humility, thinking of one set at a time and with the desire to always be present”.
