Yesterday Sir Safety Susa Perugia returned to work at the PalaBarton.
After two days of rest granted by coach Anastasi in the aftermath of the defeat in the semi-final of the Italian Cup against Piacenza, the Block Devils regained possession of the Pian di Massiano facility in view of the next commitments. The native coach of Poggio Rusco analyzed the first setback of the season together with the boys. He did so by paying attention to situations of a technical and tactical nature that didn’t work at their best, always with his usual serenity and with the awareness of the goodness of the work done so far, recharging the group in view of future commitments.
The month of March that opens today is in fact extremely important for President Sirci’s Bianconeri. The nuanced objective of the Italian Cup must not make us forget the exemplary path of Perugia which can already boast two cups on its bulletin board this season and which is awaited by a season finale with two other very important objectives, the Champions League and the Super League. to try to achieve.
In particular, March will kick off both the Scudetto playoffs and those of the top club competition on a continental level. And if for the championship there are still two days left at the end of the regular season (Sunday 5 March in Taranto and Sunday 12 March at home against Civitanova with game 1 of the playoff quarter-finals scheduled for 19 March), the Champions quarter-finals are now at doors with the double challenge with Berlin which is giving away a place among the four semi-finalists.
Therefore, always with due attention to the Superlega (something amply demonstrated in the last matches played with the first place in the standings already armored), the main focus of Anastasi and his players is now certainly on the match on Wednesday 8 at the Max-Schmeling -Halle in Berlin for the first leg against the Berlin Recycling Volleys (return on Wednesday 15th at the PalaBarton) with the Juventus technical staff already on their bikes to study every minimum technical-tactical detail of the opponent.
In the meantime, the whole team has resumed its routine and work rhythm. After yesterday’s double session and this afternoon’s technical training, the Block Devils will work again with the ball tomorrow afternoon while on Friday new double training, in the weight room in the morning and on the central field of Pian di Massiano in the afternoon. Saturday departure for Taranto to start a long trip which will then stop in the German capital before returning to Perugia.
