The 2023-2024 roster of Sir Safety Susa Perugia is completed. The Juventus club communicates the purchase of the libero Alessandro Toscani who will team up with Colaci in Perugia second line and complete the squad to be made available to coach Angelo Lorenzetti.
Born in 1998, a native of Ortona, Tuscany, twenty-five years old to be completed on July 18, he comes from a long and profitable apprenticeship in Serie A2. Ten seasons in the second national series (seven in Ortona, one in Reggio Emilia, one in Castellana Grotte and the last just finished in Bergamo) which have highlighted the quality of the Abruzzo athlete in the fundamentals of reception and defense. Ten seasons in continuous and constant growth not only from a technical point of view, but also from a mental and character point of view, very important qualities for those who practice free.
“When there was the possibility of Perugia I was very happy”, says Toscani in his “debut” from Block Devils. “It doesn’t happen every day that we are called by companies of this kind, among the most important in Italy and in the world. After so many years in the A2 series, my first year in the Superlega is about to arrive and I’m really happy, but also curious to see the level and the difference with A2, I can’t wait to get started”.
The doors of the top flight therefore open for Toscani who in Perugia finds a master like Lorenzetti on the bench and a master in the role like Colaci.
“The arrival of Lorenzetti represents a further step forward. My personal goal is to improve, to follow the advice of the coach and my teammates who are all world-class athletes and to try to keep the level of the Superlega which is very different from that of A2 both in terms of physicality and speed of ball. Massimo Colaci? He is a great free, very good, expert, who certainly needs no introduction. He played many years in big clubs and in the national team, I still consider him one of the best free players around. I will try to take advantage of all his advice and learn from him in every training session.”
