Taranto club scores another huge market hit for the 2023-24 season: Josè Miguel Gutièrrez will be the new spiker of Gioiella Prisma Taranto.
The young Cuban hammer born in 2001 for 194 cm showed off in the last season among the ranks of Top Volley Cisterna, where he performed well and responded to every call from the coach, the rossoblùs remember him very well in the second leg in Taranto where he was instrumental in the comeback and victory of Top Volley at the tie break, bringing home the title of mvp and top scorer of the match. A prospectus that has already shown the enormous technical qualities on which Mr. Mastrangelo will be able to work, constituting a high-level pillar in the new battery of spikers that Gioiella Prisma is setting up.
Gutièrrez had arrived in Cisterna after two seasons spent in France where he wore the shirt of Chaumont Volley-Ball 52 and in the 2020/2021 season of Stade Poitevin Poitiers. 194 centimeters tall and weighing 80 kilos, Gutierrez attacks at 3 and a half meters in height. Certainly another lethal arrow in the quiver of the Prisma Jewel available to coach Mastrangelo.
Agile and powerful, Gutierrez’s decisive weapon is certainly the speed of his arm in dunking and serving, with a real power shot on the ball, a decisive element for successfully overcoming the block and receiving opponents.
Also involved with the Cuban national team, Gutierrez also performed well in the recent World Cup in Poland.
In his Italian season he scored 113 total points, 23 of which in batting, a decisive result, on many occasions, to the salvation obtained by a wide margin of the Lazio team.
