MINT Vero Volley Monza signs an appointment with history, in the single match valid for the Quarter Finals of the Del Monte ® Italian Cup 2023/2024. In an Opiquad Arena lit up by its audience, with more than 2500 spectators, the Italian vice-champions of Cucine Lube Civitanova had to give way 3-1 (31-33; 25-20; 25-15; 25-23) to the team trained by coach Massimo Eccheli. This is the first time for the Consortium’s flagship team at the Italian Cup Final Four, which will be played at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno on 27 and 28 January and which will see the winners of the last Scudetto of Itas Trentino as opponents of Monzesi in the Semifinal. The 24 points of top scorer Arthur Szwarc, named MVP, and an exemplary blocking performance (12 winners), with the right attitude even from nine meters, were decisive in turning the match around after a first set spoiled at the end. The home team’s performance surprised the players from the Marche region, who started well and were then on the ropes for most of the match until the reaction at the end of the fourth set with only a close call.
