Andrea Anastasi will be the coach of Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza also next season, the fifth consecutive for the red and white club in the Super League.

The extension of the contract, which expires on June 30th, was signed to the satisfaction of both parties. One year contract for the coach born in Poggio Rusco in the province of Mantua.

Born in 1960, a great career as a player with 141 appearances for the national team “of the Phenomena”, a long career as a coach that began, immediately after hanging up his knee pads, in the 1994-1995 season in Brescia. The coach from Mantua coached in Montichiari from 1995 to 1999 and then moved to Cuneo from 2003 to 2005 and last season to Perugia. These are the Italian stages as a coach.

This season Anastasi finished the regular season in third place and in their first adventure in the Champions League the team, after winning theirs, was then eliminated in the quarter-finals. Likewise in the Italian Cup at the hands of Milan who are now competing with the red and whites for passage to the Scudetto semi-finals, in a series that sees Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza ahead 2-1 and with the possibility of closing the score at the Allianz Cloud in Milan.

Andrea Anastasi as a coach won two European championships, leading Italy and Spain, and three World Leagues (one with Poland), as well as an Olympic bronze in 2000 when he sat on the bench of the Italian national team. He also led the Belgian national team, he coached the Azzurri. He was also a selector for Belgium.
