After the deserved success achieved at home to Lecce, Avimecc Volley Modica returns to work with renewed enthusiasm to prepare the first of two consecutive matches that await the “Galletti” and which could open up interesting scenarios for the already good ranking of the white and blues.

We start next Sunday with Plus Volleyball Sabaudia, who will be guests at the “PalaRizza” on Sunday, where they will try to bring home important points to improve their anemic ranking which with 17 points sees them in third to last place in the Blue group standings of the championship A3 series.

Coach Enzo Distefano is happy with his team’s reaction in Lecce, but invites his boys not to let their guard down and to try to make the most of the two consecutive home matches which could open up good prospects for the rest of the season.

“In Tricase – explains the coach of Avimecc Volley Modica – two teams hungry for points faced each other, Lecce came into the match fresh from three consecutive defeats and without having ever won in the second round. We immediately started strong and above all aggressive as I had asked the team to do on the lines. Spagnol, Chillemi and Putini above all were very good and made their reception constantly difficult. We were also good at blocking and constant in the side out phase which ensured we were always ahead by a few points, especially in the first two sets. In the third set – he continues – there was a proud reaction from Lecce with the team remaining in balance until the final stages, but we remained on track, we took advantage of the opponents’ mistakes and I believe we deservedly took the three points. Victory which is very important for us because it relaunches us in the standings in view of the two home matches with Sabaudia and Marcianise. Let’s think about one match at a time – concludes coach Distefano – the next one will be against Sabaudia who, despite the ranking, are a team in strong growth, so if we want to look at the play-off objective with optimism we will have to stay focused from the first training session and try to take advantage of full what we usually manage to produce when we play at the “PalaRizza” in front of our audience”.
