“Nothing is really difficult if you divide it into many little pieces.” Henry Ford’s maxim is well suited to the fascinating challenge that awaits the Consoli Sferc Centrale Brescia tomorrow, Wednesday 1st May. At San Filippo at 6pm for Game 1 of the quarterfinals of the A2 Del Monte Italian Cup, the very strong Emma Villas Siena arrives, who a month ago eliminated the Toucans in the quarterfinals of the promotion play-offs.

The Brescians are aiming for a great revenge, but the feat will have to be built reception after reception, attack after attack and probably serve after serve. The objective is the Final Four which will be played on 11 and 12 May in Cuneo and the contest develops in an unprecedented way in just two games. After Game 1 at San Filippo, only Game 2 will be played in Siena on Sunday 5 May at 7.00 pm with a possible Golden set. If the two teams each achieve a victory with the same points (three-point victory with 3-0 or 3-1 and two-point victory with 3-2) an additional set will be played at 15 points.

It will therefore be very important for Brescia to capitalize on the home round as best as possible. The three matches against Reggio Emilia in the round of 16 saw a team on the rise. Race 3 found a lively and reactive Consoli again and the atmosphere at Atlantide was lively. Reaching the final four of the Italian Cup would give the Brescia club a high-profile season finale. On the other hand, Siena, after beating Brescia in the quarter-finals of the play-offs, was able to eliminate Porto Viro in three semi-final games, thus earning the final, which they then lost to Grottazzolina. In the Sienese clan, however, there is no air of disappointment: there is indeed the awareness of having given everything and having only surrendered to a great team that objectively deserved the promotion.

Consoli Sferc Centrale Brescia will rely on the starting sextet with captain Tiberti linked to Klapwijk; Cominetti will be in the band with Abrahan while Erati and Candeli will compete in the center; the libero shirt will be entrusted to Pesaresi.

In the other half-field, coach Graziosi’s Emma Villas Siena will most likely be on the pitch with Nevot as director intersected with Krauchuk, Trillini and Copelli in the centre, Pierotti and Tallone as banda and Bonami in the role of libero.
