Nicola Candeli has joined Pineto Volley’s middle blockers for the 2026/27 Credem Banca Serie A2 championship. Born in Desenzano del Garda in 1993, the new arrival from Torre del Cerrano will complete the starting middle blocking pairing alongside Riccardo Copelli, forming a top-notch duo in terms of quality and experience to serve the white-and-blue cause.

Nicola Candeli, 200 cm tall, comes from two seasons with Campi Reali Cantù, also in the cadet championship. He finished last year with the Cantù team with 182 total points (129 attacking, 43 blocking, 10 aces). He has seven cadet championships under his belt—five with Brescia—and a Superleague experience dating back to the 2021/22 season with Consar RCM Ravenna. With Consoli, Sferc Brescia won the Coppa Italia and the Serie A2 Super Cup in the 2023/24 season.

Nicola Candeli’s first words in blue and white: “I’m very happy to come to Pineto, a city I’ve lived in as an opponent over the years, where I have friends, teammates, and former teammates who have always spoken highly of it. And then, in recent seasons, it has proven to be one of the most ambitious clubs in the league. I see it as a new challenge after two difficult seasons, especially the last one, where, in some ways, I’m also happy with my personal results because I think I’ve had a good season. I’m convinced that the team Pineto has built has the right conditions to do well together. As I said, I have many friends who have spoken highly of the atmosphere, of coach Cezar Douglas, of athletic trainer Angelo Marolla, and of the staff and the club in general. It won’t be easy to replicate last season’s successes, but I’m confident that the roster we’ve assembled can achieve some great things.” I can’t wait to experience the Pala Santa Maria as a home player, because as an opponent it’s always been a heated, crowded, and difficult environment to play in. The idea of returning to a place where volleyball is alive, where the arena is always full on Sundays and you can get back to winning ways, is an extra motivation for me to do well.”
