With the victory obtained in the Pineto field, the fifth consecutive success in the championship for the team coached by coach Gianluca Graziosi, Emma Villas Siena regained third position in the standings. The Sienese are experiencing an excellent period, which began with the great success achieved in Porto Viro and then continued with the home successes against Santa Croce sull’Arno and Ortona and then again with the away victories against Prata di Pordenone and Pineto. A string of victories that brought 14 points to the Sienese team, with the white and blues now at 33 points.

The next championship match will see the Sienese challenge Conad Reggio Emilia, the team of the former Romolo Mariano and Filippo Poconi. The match will be played on Saturday 20 January at PalaEstra starting at 8.30 pm: tickets are already on sale in the CiaoTickets circuit and will be sold in the ticket office of the sports hall in Viale Sclavo on Saturday, match day, starting at 6 pm ,30.

In the first leg the Sienese managed to beat PalaBigi, obtaining a good success in the tiebreak. The Reggio Emilia team are in tenth position in the rankings with 19 points; Conad is -4 from the playoff zone and at the same time has a ten point advantage over the pair made up of Castellana Grotte and Ortona who are currently in thirteenth and fourteenth position. For the Reggio Emilia team, in the last round, a beautiful and precious home victory against Castellana Grotte, the final result was 3-0. On this occasion, the Emilians scored 10 points for Preti, 9 for Mariano, 8 for Suraci and 7 for Marks, who is the sixth best scorer in the A2 series championship.

Siena seeks further points from this match to qualify for the playoffs. The top seven teams ranked at the end of the championship will participate in the post season. The Sienese currently have an 11-point advantage over those who occupy the eighth position in the ranking, namely Santa Croce sull’Arno (just victorious against Prata di Pordenone, great performance by the red and white wolves), who have 22 points but he has a race to catch up on.

In Pineto, coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team put in a solid performance. 10 aces were made by the Sienese, who also performed well in attack, blocking and defense. Marco Pierotti was judged MVP of the match, excellent performances however came from all the elements of the Tuscan roster.
