Emma Villas Siena continues its training in view of the next championship match, which will be the last match of the regular season. The Sienese will return to play at the PalaParenti against Kemas Lamipel Santa Croce sull’Arno for the last match before the playoffs. The race will start on Sunday starting from 6pm.

Coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team is currently second in the standings with 53 points, which are the result of a journey that has so far consisted of 18 victories and 7 defeats in the twenty-five matches already played. Grottazzolina, with its 59 points, is already certain of first place in the regular season. The Sienese will instead have to try to defend themselves from the onslaught of Cuneo, who gave them second place in the standings just last day after losing against Prata di Pordenone. The Piedmontese are third with 51 points, in fourth position is Ravenna with 49 and behind is Prata di Pordenone with 48 points. Sixth is Brescia with 43 points while Porto Viro is seventh, but in any case already certain of participation in the playoffs, with 41 points.

Santa Croce has 34 points, is eighth and is already mathematically excluded from the playoffs. Salvation for the red and whites has been achieved for some time, the last match will be useful for Kemas Lamipel to best greet their fans in view of the upcoming commitments for the A2 Serie Italian Cup.

In the last round of the championship, Emma Villas Siena got the better of Porto Viro: the Sienese won the match 3-1 with 17 points from Krauchuk (who finished the match with 61% in attack), the 15 by Pierotti, 14 by Tallone and 11 by Copelli. Coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team showed good volleyball, attacked profitably, received well on the guests’ serves (with the peak of 94% positivity in reception in the second set) and performed really well on the block, scoring the beauty of 14 winning blocks (already 5 in the first set) against the 4 recorded by the opponents. Those obtained against Porto Viro were three decidedly important points in the standings for the Sienese ahead of the last day of the regular season.

Santa Croce played a very good match and fought at Grottazzolina’s home ground. Kemas Lamipel won the first two sets of the match, the first with a 29-31 advantage and the second dominating it and even closing it at 12-25. But then the red and whites suffered a vehement recovery from the league leaders who turned the situation around by winning the match 3-2. In the end for the visiting team there were 20 points from Allik, 12 from Gatto and Colli, 10 from Pardo.
