Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza loses the first match in this round of the 5th Place Play Offs to Civitanova and also leaves the top of the standings. They finish in second place in the ranking and in the semi-final on Monday 22 April (8.30 pm) at PalabancaSport they will meet Civitanova again who finishes in third place in the ranking. The other semi-final will be between Verona first in the standings and Modena fourth.
Just over an hour and a half of play was enough for Cucine Lube Civitanova to conquer PalabancaSport and obtain their third victory in this group. On the other side of the net Cucine Lube Civitanova responds with De Cecco and Lagumdzija diagonally, Chinenyeze and Anzani in the center, Zaytsev and Nikolov at the back, Balaso is the libero.
The start is all Marche (1-5) with two consecutive aces at the start peppered with an attacking error by Romanò: time out by Anastasi. Upon returning to the field, a point from Lucarelli and a block from Recine (3-5), great defense from Romanò and a block from Brizard for the minus one (7-8) but it is Civitanova who restarts quickly, the block on Lucarelli’s attack brings the Marche with a five-point lead (7-12) with Anastasi calling the second time out. Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza struggles in reception but in general a bit in all the fundamentals, Leal inside for Romanò and at 11-20 Dias inside the control room for Brizard. Another block, third in the set, for Civitanova and it’s 13-23, the set point comes with Lagumdzija (13-24), Yant closes on the second occasion.
