Sir Susa Vim Perugia is back in the Play Off Semifinal series. The Block Devils, in a full house at PalaBarton, beat Allianz Milano 3-1 in the third act of the series after a match that started on an uphill climb with the guests making a loud statement in the first set. Then the reaction of Angelo Lorenzetti’s bianconeri who raise the engine speed. After a second and third set conducted with authority, in the fourth it was a close fight until 15-15. A turn of service by Russo digs a furrow that Perugia takes to the end with Ben Tara’s attack which explodes the PalaBarton. Attack and block are the winning fundamentals of the Block Devils who finished with 54% efficiency at the net against 43% for Milan and recorded 14 winning blocks against the 6 of coach Piazza’s team. Ben Tara is the MVP of the match. The Tunisian opposite finished with 24 winning balls and 65% in attack. Double figures at Sir Susa Vim also for an all-round Semeniuk (16 points), Plotnytskyi (11 on the scoresheet) and Flavio (11 with 4 blocks). In the half field Allianz Kaziyski scores 15, Reggers 13 and Ishikawa 10. The series now moves back to Milan for Game 4 scheduled for Thursday 11 April at 8.30pm with live broadcast on Rai Sport.

Even the series in the upper part of the Credem Banca Scudetto Play Off scoreboard will require, like the one in the lower part between Perugia and Milan, at least Game 4. This evening at the daily Arena it was in fact Monza who achieved the feat, violating for the first the Trento field once in its history and reaching 1-2 thanks to the tie-break victory at the end of a very tight third match with great technical and competitive content, as demonstrated by the conclusion with the minimum difference of four of the five sets played tonight. Maar’s recovery and Eccheli’s choice to play with three spikers, giving up the pure opposite Szwarc, allowed the Brianza players to be much more incisive in attack and serving and to be able to count on 73 points from high balls. What was needed to overcome the initial 0-1, go ahead 2-1 and then repel in the tie-break the comeback and overtaking attempt of an Itas Trentino team that struggled to be incisive in serving but compensated for these difficulties by showing off again once great pride and a super wall (14). However, it wasn’t enough to close the series because in the tie-break Monza took control of the game at 7-8 and never let go until the end, led to success by MVP Takahashi, who also scored the last point .

MVP: Ran Takahashi (Mint Vero Volley Monza)
