Ivan Zaytsev: “Lube is struggling with a mini-preparation for the final part of the championship. We work hard from a physical point of view to put fuel in our legs and, obviously, we work with equal determination to take care of the technical part, also giving life to intense six-on-six games between us in order to find greater consistency in our volleyball . We are still a work in progress and we are working to create the Lube we want. It will probably count a lot to roll up your sleeves, but also to take to the field with a smile and the joy of playing, the same enthusiasm we had as kids. Our ups and downs in individual matches? In my opinion it is a mental problem that we can overcome. As we have already shown in the past, the Play Offs will be another tournament, we will fight to be ready. I have faced the Scudetto play-offs several times, it is my job to set an example for the younger players and guide them so that they have the right approach. We “old guys” have to be the first to arrive and the last to leave at the gym. The focus now is on the internal match against Modena. Among the exes of the match there is also my former coach and now friend Alberto Giuliani. I have remained in contact with him since my first experience at Lube and I am happy that he is about to face a new important professional stage, albeit a difficult one given the task of reviving a team that is going through a delicate period. It will be nice to see Alberto again at the Eurosuole Forum, embrace him again, challenge his team and, possibly, beat him.”
