The picture of the Credem Banca Super League Play Off Semifinals is completed with the two play-offs in Game 5 which rewarded on the one hand Allianz Milano (which gained the pass for the next phase by beating Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza 3 to 0) and on the other Mint True Volley Monza, which won 3 to 1 on the pitch of Cucina Lube Civitanova, thus accessing the Semi-finals. Semifinals which will therefore be the same as the Final Four of the Del Monte® Coppa Italia played in Bologna at the end of January: Milan will challenge Perugia, while Monza will face Trento.

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza – Allianz Milano 0-3 (21-25, 21-25, 22-25) – Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza: Brizard 0, Santos De Souza 9, Simon 6, Romanò 14, Leal 9, Caneschi 4, Hoffer (L), Recine 0, Gironi 0, Scanferla (L), Ricci 0, Andringa 0, Dias 0. It takes Allianz Milano an hour and a half to conquer the PalaBancaSport, beat a Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza in Game 5, a poor copy of the one seen in the previous matches and advance to the Scudetto Semifinal where they will meet Sir Susa Vim Perugia. For Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza is now heading to the 5th Place Play Offs whose calendar will be made official in the next few hours. Play Off 5th Place in which the four losers participate in the Quarter Finals of the Scudetto Play Offs beyond Cisterna and Padova. The winner will have a pass to Europe and will play in the Challenge Cup. In front of the Rai cameras and almost 3,200 spectators, the red and whites were not good at keeping up with the pace of Milan who, after having chased their opponents in the initial part of each set and once they reached parity they always found the right extension.

MVP: Ferre Reggers (Allianz Milan)

Andrea Anastasi (Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza coach): “After a match like this there is little to comment other than the fact that we did little on the pitch and our opponents found few difficulties on their way. The attitude wasn’t the right one and this was certainly the least balanced match of the series. Our season was disappointing, you can’t say otherwise.”

Marco Vitelli (Allianz Milano): “It was a great satisfaction, even if I must say that we always believed in it, we believed in it with the series down 2-1, down 2 sets to 0 at home. It was also a great satisfaction on a personal level that I had been waiting for for a long time. What if I expected to finish 3-0 tonight? Honestly no, we always had a 3-2 against Piacenza, but there was something different tonight. Tomorrow we rest, but we already have to think about Perugia and I don’t want to say anything, but last year was good for us.”

Cucine Lube Civitanova – Mint Vero Volley Monza 1-3 (23-25, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25)

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza – Allianz Milano 0-3 (21-25, 21-25, 22-25) – Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza: Brizard 0, Santos De Souza 9, Simon 6, Romanò 14, Leal 9, Caneschi 4, Hoffer (L), Recine 0, Gironi 0, Scanferla (L), Ricci 0, Andringa 0, Dias 0. Starace, Innocenzi, Piano. All. Piazza. ARBITRI: Zavater, Curto. NOTE – durata set: 29′, 28′, 33′; tot: 90′.

Cucine Lube Civitanova – Mint Vero Volley Monza 1-3 (23-25, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25) – Cucine Lube Civitanova: Yant Herrera 18, Chinenyeze 4, Zaytsev 5, Nikolov 19, Anzani 8, De Cecco 2, Bisotto (L), Balaso (L), Lagumdzija 10, Diamantini 1, Bottolo 1. N.E. Thelle, Motzo. All. Blengini. Mint Vero Volley Monza: Takahashi 19, Di Martino 5, Szwarc 14, Maar 22, Galassi 6, Kreling 1, Morazzini (L), Visic 0, Loeppky 5, Mujanovic 0, Beretta 0, Gaggini (L). N.E. Comparoni. All. Eccheli. ARBITRI: Puecher, Piana. NOTE – durata set: 29′, 36′, 31′, 33′; tot: 129′.

Cucine Lube Civitanova fails to overtake the Brianza team and sees their qualification for the eighth consecutive Scudetto semi-final slip away. Mint Vero Volley Monza will challenge the Italian champions Itas Trentino. The season of the red and whites will instead end with the adventure in the 5th Place Play Offs. In the fifth act of the quarter-finals the red and whites lost (23-25, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25) against a Mint Vero Volley Monza team that was always on point. Having left the fight for the tricolor prematurely, Chicco Blengini’s men will return to the field for the race for the Challenge Cup (calendar to be defined) in the Group which will also involve Cisterna, Modena, Padova, Piacenza and Verona. The episodes make the difference. The statistics show a fair balance between the teams, the result certifies the greater concreteness of the guests in the key moments, with Maar the star (22 points) and MVP, followed by Takahashi (18) and Szwarc (14). On the red and white front, Nikolov and Yant finished with 19 points each, Lagumdzija entered the race and stamped the scoresheet 10 times. 54% of the team in attack is not enough for the Cucieri against (48% of their rivals). Cucinieri on the pitch as in Game 4, with Lagumdzija on the bench and with Zaytsev, Nikolov and Yant attacking. Central Larizza isn’t even on the bench, with a sore ankle. Typical sextet for Monza with Takahashi and Maar preferred to Loeppky in place 4. In the first set (23-25) Monza attacks with 61% and scores the only ace, while Civitanova wins the block duel (3-1, two of Yant), but gives up in the sprint. In the second set (23-25), Lube grows in attack (59%) with points from Nikolov (9) and Yant (6), but has to deal with a deadly Mint blocking (6 winners) and dragging from Maar (10 seals with 3 blocks and 75%). In the third act (25-20) La Lube gives life to a monologue right from the first exchanges with an overwhelming 70% positivity in the offensives and with Yant (6 points) decisive in attack and serving.

MVP: Stephen Maar (Mint Vero Volley Monza)
SPECTATOR: 3,631

Gianlorenzo Blengini (coach Cucine Lube Civitanova): “Some things that went very well in Game 4 didn’t work, first of all the attack on the slow ball, which today saw us struggle so much. Then we also had our opportunities and we weren’t able to take advantage of them. In the first set we had the ball to go to 24 all, just to give an example.

Fernando Kreling (Mint Vero Volley Monza): “It wasn’t easy and I’m not just talking about this last match. The whole series was very tough, they did well to recover after the first two defeats. They managed to raise the level of their game, putting us in difficulty.
