The Pool Libertas Cantù spiker Lorenzo Magliano was called up by the Under 20 National Team coach Michele Zanin to the training camp first, and then to the Second Qualifying Round for the European Category Championship. The player, Captain of the national youth team, will reach Milan on Tuesday 2 April, and then leave for Podgorica (Montenegro), home of the matches, to return to Italy on Monday 8 April.
The Italians are placed in Group E with Israel, Norway and the hosts, and will play at the Verde Sports Hall in the Montenegrin city with the following calendar:
Friday 5 April 2024 at 4.00 pm: Italy – Norway
Saturday 6 April 2024 at 4.00 pm: Italy – Israel
Sunday 7 April 2024 at 6.30 pm: Italy – Montenegro
The winning teams of the five groups and the three best runners-up will qualify.
The Under 20 European Championships will take place from 26 August to 7 September 2024 in Vrjacka Banja (Serbia) and Arta (Greece).
