The work of Sir Susa Vim Perugia continues in view of the second leg of the Super League which will see the Bianconeri on the court on Saturday in Modena.
Afternoon training today for the Block Devils at PalaBarton with coach Lorenzetti and his staff who are increasing the loads and focusing the activity on the characteristics of coach Petrella’s Valsa Group, the next rival on the pitch of the boys dear to president Sirci.
Eighth against second on the pitch on Saturday at PalaPanini. This is what the current Super League ranking says, but Modena-Perugia is much more, it is a classic of the last ten years of volleyball, it is always a beautiful, electrifying challenge, characterized by the class of the great champions protagonists on the pitch. A story made up of forty-seven precedents, heart-pounding playoff series, Scudetto finals, Super Cup finals, Champions League playoffs. A challenge that has reached its third act this year after the first leg and the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup both played at PalaBarton and won by the Block Devils 3-1 and 3-0.
A match that will be played a lot in terms of serving (being faced by the first two in the championship in terms of number of aces, 95 for Perugia and 92 for Modena) and in attack (the first and fifth most effective attacks in the Super League on the field with Perugia at 54 .9% and Modena at 50.7%). A match with many stories (one for many, the challenge between the two setters of the Rio 2016 Olympic final Bruno and Giannelli) and with two coaches who know each other by heart, Petrella having been Lorenzetti’s trusted assistant for the last seven seasons.
A Perugia that wants to continue the beautiful open streak of 2024 and the chase in Trento, a Modena that is recovering after a complicated period closed with the beautiful victory in the fifth set last Sunday on a difficult court like that of Monza.
NEW STAGE OF THE “SIR AT SCHOOL” PROJECT THIS MORNING
This morning Gregor Ropret and Flavio Gualberto were the protagonists of a new stage of the “Sir at school” project which sees the Block Devils around the schools of the district, promoted by the Juventus club with the patronage of the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the Municipality of Perugia and in collaboration with the Regional School Office in particular in the figure of Prof. Lorenzo Bertinelli. Today the two athletes accompanied by the company staff were guests in the great hall of the Polo Bonghi Institute of Higher Education in Assisi welcomed by the Director Carlo Menichini, by prof. Riccardo Provvedi and a large group of around eighty third, fourth and fifth year students.
Flavio and Ropret opened up and told the kids their story and their sporting and life experiences.
