The CEV Champions League Final Four is approaching: from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 May, the Polish city of Lodz will be the stage for the most important European club event, with Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia the only Italian team still in the running for the final victory.

The Block Devils will be on stage in the Semifinal against Halkbank Ankara, a Turkish team already faced during the group stage. After being eliminated from the Play Off Scudetto by Cucine Lube Civitanova, Angelo Lorenzetti’s team wants to close the year on a positive note, which began with the conquest of the Del Monte® Supercoppa SuperLega in Florence.

At 8:00 pm on Friday 16 May, Perugia and Ankara will face each other for the third time this season: in the first leg of the Pool Phase Perugia won 3-0 while in the return match of the group stage, which took place at the Pala Barton Energy, the Turks won at the tie-break, with the Umbrians already certain of progressing to the next round.

Over the course of the season, Ankara has added two recent acquaintances from the Italian championship to its ranks: the roster has been enriched with the presence of Yoandy Leal, a Cuban spiker who has become a Brazilian, fresh from his experiences with Piacenza, Modena and Civitanova. Radostin Stoytchev has arrived on the bench, after the end of his relationship with Rana Verona. Among the spikers there is also the Dutchman Dick Kooy, with experiences in Modena, Lube, Piacenza and Trento.

The other Semifinal, on Saturday, will feature JSW Jastrzebski Wegiel and Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, for the Polish derby.
