Ferre Reggers remains the cornerstone of the Allianz Milano project. After two seasons as a protagonist among the best scorers of the SuperLega, the club has decided to confirm and extend the agreement with the strong Belgian opposite hitter until the 2026/27 season. “I’m happy here, I still had one year left on my contract and together we decided to continue. I couldn’t be happier”, says Reggers, who is preparing for a new season with ambition and awareness: “I’m not at my best yet, but I want to get there with Milan. I feel like we can win something”.
Here are his answers to a series of questions about the present, the past, the future, the new Allianz Milano roster and the commitments with the Belgian national team.

Ferre, first of all how are you? You chose to stay at Allianz Milano despite the pressure from other big teams. What convinced you to continue your career in Milan?
I’m fine, really fine, thank you. I’m also very calm, I’m at home, with my family. I have a vacation period. The retreat with the national team will only start on July 7, in a month, so I took advantage of these weeks to do some training. Soon I’ll also be traveling with my friend Matteo Staforini, but it’s important to always maintain a good level of training. Not too much. I do some weights, without putting too much pressure on my knees and shoulders. Why did I choose to stay in Milan? Well, first of all because I’m fine here and I still had a year left on my contract. Then, it’s true, requests came from other clubs and I immediately wanted to talk about it with president Lucio Fusaro and director Fabio Lini. They made me a new proposal, so we adjusted the agreement and extended it for another year. I couldn’t be happier to continue working for Allianz Milano and coach Piazza. I immediately felt at home here, among so many friends.
You have been on the podium of the best scorers of the SuperLega. What aspects of your game have improved compared to your first year in Italy and how far can Reggers go?
It is difficult to say where I have improved. Of course, the second year of the SuperLega means a little more experience, a few more minutes, a few more points. The team, the coach and the more experienced teammates have made me take steps forward, I have been given a lot of responsibilities. Paolo Porro has set me up with many important balls, with him I think the harmony has improved from the first to the second year. I think the balance of my two seasons is positive, and I am happy. Now, however, there is the future to write, we will see how it goes. I am not yet in my best form and there are still many details I have to work on.
