The VNL 2025 is full of red and white athletes, eight in the extended lists. After the call-ups to the Italian volleyball team for four members of Cucine Lube Civitanova, namely libero Fabio Balaso, setter Mattia Boninfante, spiker Mattia Bottolo and middle blocker Giovanni Gargiulo, the latter at his first call-up like the young setter, some of the foreigners who were protagonists of a memorable season at Lube have also been called up by the teams of their countries. Ready for the international catwalk are the Iranian hammer Poriya Hossein Khanzadeh, the Turkish opposite hitter Adis Lagumdzija, the Bulgarian spiker Alex Nikolov and the French middle blocker Barthelemy Chinenyeze. Fullback Eric Loeppky, on the other hand, has chosen to forgo his summer commitments with Canada and could return to his country’s selection for the World Cup. Croatian opposite hitter Petar Dirlic will also join his national team, which however will not take part in the Volleyball Nations League.
