Trentino Volley announces that today in Verona, during a training session with the Italian national team, spiker Daniele Lavia suffered a compound fracture, with associated tendon injuries, to both the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand.
The player underwent surgery this afternoon for reduction, bone stabilization, and tendon suturing at Borgo Trento Hospital in Verona by Chief Physician Dr. Massimo Corain. Recovery time, which will be very long, is still being assessed.
The club’s management today intends to focus solely on welcoming Daniele back as soon as possible to begin the most appropriate physical and therapeutic work for the player’s optimal recovery.
In the coming days, the issue of liability, including financial liability, will be addressed with the federal leadership, considering that the athlete, due to an injury sustained during his long period of captivity with the Italian national team, will be forced to miss a significant portion of the SuperLega Championship, significantly detrimental to the club.
