Cuneo Volley confirms the Piedmontese coach Matteo Battocchio as head of the white-blue bench, in his third season in Cuneo.
The Head Coach, after leading the team to the historic promotion to the Superleague on April 24 and to the victory of the Supercup A2 on May 17, is already working together with the Sports Director Brugiafreddo and the presidency to build the roster that will face the championship in the top Italian series.
The newly promoted white-blue Club will have as its main objective the maintenance of the category, so as to be able to strengthen itself for the following seasons, with realistic and constant growth.
Coach Battocchio’s first statements on the assignment and the personal meaning of this role and responsibility: « There is a lot of determination in wanting to do well in this category and in wanting to give voice to the ideas that characterize me and the way of understanding volleyball, even in this championship».
What changes from the point of view of programming compared to last summer?
« In our specific case, it changes a lot, because we will be playing in a championship where we will not be able to afford the luxury of working to get to the end, to the play-offs, but instead we will have to face the season along the lines of “better to get all dirty and right away”. This year, the commitments that the players have with the national teams in the preparation phase come into play in an important way and therefore the start date of their availability for work with the group».
