The season is almost here, and anticipation among Domotek Volley fans is sky-high. Antonio Polimeni opened the doors to his dream locker room, talking about emotions, goals, and the immense responsibility he feels toward a city that embraces volleyball with growing passion.
Mister Polimeni, another season is about to begin. How are you feeling about these final days of anticipation?
“You never get used to these moments. It’s always exciting to be able to start a new season, to be able to work with a different group of players than last year. Some of us have stayed, to my great pleasure and honor. But it will be equally an honor to coach the rest of the team, some of whom I know, some of whom I don’t. On a personal level, I’ve already coached many of them, and it will be a real pleasure to have them back at our side.”
The schedule is out. Are there any matches you’re looking forward to more than others?
“The schedule, in the end, never leaves you completely happy or completely dissatisfied. You accept it for what it is. There’s no time when you prefer one team over another, because in these leagues, dangers are always lurking. It’s the nature of our sport, its performance model, that leads you to never settle and never be unhappy with your opponent. We’ll work hard to be ready for every opportunity.
