Coach Fabio Soli spoke at the start of Rana Verona’s summer training camp for the 2025/2026 season.

Coach, the championship is still many weeks away, but we’ll need to get off to a strong start this preseason: what does the team need to work on specifically?

The start is a long way off, but we’re slowly getting closer. I thought it was best to start early to work gradually, working with the players who have been sidelined for a long time. Each of them has followed a specific program, but working with the group is more functional. This initial period will be a purely physical activity, tied to some tactical details that we’ll develop despite being reduced in size.

The roster has also been completed with pieces you strongly desired: how important is it for you to work closely with Mozic and Planinsic?

Mozic has been part of Rana Verona’s core team for many years. There are very high expectations for him, but he needs to work with the right level of calm to continue his growth. I’m fortunate to work with him this summer because we can share so much knowledge that he can continue to develop. We had already had our eye on Planinsic; last year he faced Civitanova in the cup, and I appreciated his qualities. When I met him with the national team, he confirmed what I had thought, and we entrusted him with a key role as second setter.
