After forty-two days of preparation, including three joint training sessions against Mantova (2-2) and Dachau (both 4-0), the Itas Trentino men’s team is finally making its seasonal debut in a friendly. The Italian champions will play their match against Serie A2 side Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia on Wednesday, October 1st at the “Angelo Marchetti” Sports Hall in Rovereto. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM, with tickets also available online.
This is a very useful test match for several reasons, coming midway through the seventh week of pre-season activity, the last to be played with a reduced squad. New coach Marcelo Mendez, making his debut as the Gialloblù coach, will still have to do without newly crowned World Cup winners Michieletto and Sbertoli, as well as Gabi Garcia and Lavia, but he will be able to count on all ten other players in the squad, taking into account that opposite hitter Théo Faure and center-back Flavio Gualberto Resende, also returning from the World Cup, have joined the group in recent days.
Beyond the goal, Itas Trentino will face an opponent in Brescia, a key player in last season’s Serie B.
