The adventure of the Under 15 team of the Kioene Pallavolo Padova Academy at the FIPAV National Finals of the category, held from May 30 to June 2 in the province of Latina, ends with a well-deserved fourth place. A result of great value for the Padua team, capable of distinguishing itself in a very high-level competition, embellished by the individual recognition awarded to Davide Marcetic, awarded as the best libero of the tournament.
Inserted in a particularly challenging group, the team led by coach Alice Biasini opened its path by overcoming Trento and then playing for first place in the final stages against Genoa, in an intense challenge that ended in a tie-break. In the quarter-finals, the group got the better of Sassuolo at the end of another battle that ended 3-2, thus arriving at a very hard-fought semifinal and faced with the residual energy after a long series of close matches.
“It was a challenging journey, also because we were unlucky enough to end up in a very tough group. We met strong teams and played top-level matches, often ending in a tie-break. When we reached the semifinals we were very tired, and perhaps at that moment we were unable to gather as much as we could have,” commented coach Biasini. “Ours is a team that plays volleyball in a technical and tactical sense. We cannot count on great physicality, so we spend a lot of energy on the court. There is a bit of regret. On the other hand, however, we gave it our all.
