He’s from Perugia (or rather, Corciano), but Altotevere—and in this case, we’re talking about the geographical area—has now adopted him, as he’s lived here for a couple of years with his wife. Niccolò Cappelletti (pictured), 29 next October, has begun his fourth season wearing the white and blue jersey of ErmGroup; since the club has been playing in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship, he’s been an ever-present alongside middle blocker Augusto Quarta. “Cappe” is a wide hitter, who in times of need (see the second half of the 2023/24 season) has made himself available to the cause, successfully converting to the opposite hitter role to compensate for Simone Marzolla’s injury. He’s also had his say at position 2, as well as from nine meters: his power, his many aces, and the disruption he creates on the opponent’s reception make him one of the strongest serve-makers in the entire category. “I feel good here in San Giustino,” Cappelletti emphasizes, “and that applies both to my relationships with the club and to the context of the town and the surrounding area. Furthermore, Corciano remains close by.”
