DiAeris McRaven, a 195cm American middle blocker born in 2002, will join the Sonepar Padova roster for the upcoming 2025-26 SuperLega season. The Hawaiian athlete is preparing for his first European experience wearing the black and white jersey.

Born in Honolulu on May 13, 2002, McRaven arrives in Italy after playing for three seasons at California State University, Long Beach Men’s Volleyball, a team with which he won the 2024-25 NCAA Championship, the top men’s college volleyball league in the United States. Wearing the national team jersey, he won the gold medal at the NORCECA Pan American Cup Final Six 2024.

“I started playing volleyball when I was 14, later than most of my teammates. When I look back on my journey so far, the most significant moment was, without a doubt, winning the NCAA National Championship last year. Since it was also my senior year of college, it was even more special,” McRaven began.

For the young middle blocker, this will be his first experience in Europe and in the top Italian league. “I’m very excited for my first season in the SuperLega and very grateful to Padova for this opportunity. I know I’ll be playing against some of the best players in the world, so I understand this season will demand a lot of me, but I’m really excited for the challenge that awaits me.”
