Taranto returns to home soil at PalaFiom against Cantù: a match that’s worth more than the points at stake.

On Sunday at 4:00 PM, the Rossoblù will face Campi Reali Cantù, bottom of the table with just one point, secured in a home tiebreaker against Porto Viro. This position shouldn’t be misleading, however: the Lombardy team is coming off a loss to Ravenna, but still managed to win a set despite the significant absences that affected the final round of the championship.

Coach Alessio Zingoni, in fact, had to do without Andrea Bacco and Gabriele Maletto, reshaping the team’s structure. Against Ravenna, Cantù took the court with Matteo Meschiari as a diagonal hitter with Nikolay Ivanov as opposite hitter, while Gioele Taiwo was paired with the experienced Nicola Candeli at center. The young Luca Martinelli will be at the helm, with Gaetano Penna as opposite hitter and Luca Butti as second lineman. A well-constructed mosaic, composed of experienced athletes and emerging youngsters, capable of expressing an aggressive and never-giving-up volleyball.
