Born in 2001 and 198 cm tall, originally from Vitry-sur-Seine, Ibrahim Lawani is now a player for Prisma La Cascina Taranto Volley. The French opposite hitter returns to the red and blue jersey after his experience in the 2022/2023 season, where he was among the key players in the Ionian club’s relegation efforts.
After a stint in Monza, Lawani has chosen to return to the Ionian coast to revitalize Taranto’s attack and once again serve the team. His return represents an important reinforcement in the position 2 spikers department.
A powerful, explosive player with a powerful serve, Lawani is considered one of the most promising young talents in French volleyball. With Paris Volley, one of the historic teams in Ligue A, he had already won the 2019-2020 Coupe de France and a silver medal at the 2022 Under-22 European Championships, where he was named the tournament’s best opposite hitter with 115 points and 13 aces.
His return to Taranto marks a new chapter in an already intense story, one of growth, trust, and mutual affection between the player and the club.
