The curtain rises on the final act of the CEV Challenge Cup: Cucine Lube Civitanova, tomorrow – Wednesday 12 March – will be on stage in the first leg of the Final at home against Bogdanka LUK Lublin, in the first of two matches that will allow one of the two teams to lift the continental trophy to the sky. Teams on the pitch at 20:30, with live coverage on DAZN and Sky (channel 258, repeat at 23:00).
At the home of the Polish club, the cooks will challenge Wilfredo Leon for the umpteenth time, who moved to Poland in the summer after leaving Perugia at the end of last season; two players in the Marche club have already lifted the Challenge Cup in their careers, namely Marko Podrascanin, in 2011, wearing the Lube jersey, and Santiago Orduna, who took European satisfaction wearing the Ravenna jersey, in 2018.
Coming from the tie-break defeat in Game 1 of the Play Off SuperLega Credem Banca Quarter Finals, Giampaolo Medei’s team wants to immediately find the feeling with success: to do so they will have to bend the resistance of Lublin, coached by Massimo Botti, last seen in Italy as coach of Piacenza, in 2022/23, with whom he won the Del Monte® Coppa Italia in Rome. Also in the Polish team is the former Verona centre Aleks Grodzanov.
