DG Beppe Cormio talks about volleyball from his point of view and praises Cucine Lube Civitanova on “World Volleyball Day”, the first international day dedicated to volleyball.
How did you get into the world of volleyball and how do you experience volleyball?
Cormio: “As a boy, it was a refuge from individual sports. I played tennis with a certain commitment, until I was 15, but I had little opportunity to express myself as I wanted. The transition to volleyball as a setter, the trust of the coach and the captain’s armband gave me confidence. Today it is about my work behind the scenes, a strong choice, made of sacrifices and taken at 33 years old after a period in which I was involved in volleyball, but I worked in a multinational.
How does Lube fit into the international volleyball framework?
“Like Trento and other historic clubs, Cucine Lube Civitanova is at the top of international volleyball, among the first 5 or 6 clubs in the world.
In June, in Norway, two U19 Scandinavian talents won the senior federal beach volleyball tournament in Molde wearing the Lube jersey.
“I am very pleased, also because I have organized 12 editions of the Beach Volleyball World Championships and already at that time the Norwegians were among the best in the world. The choice to wear our colors takes on a very important meaning. Lube has always worked on promoting the Club and our sport.
