Javi Manavi is a new player for Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena. The volleyball player, a spiker born in 1995 in Isfahan, Iran, comes from a two-year experience in Catania, first in the Superleague and last year in the A2 series. He has a great deal of international experience, after having also played in France for two years and in Indonesia. In Italy he wore the jerseys of Verona and Catania. In his trophy cabinet there is an Iranian Super League title, an Asian Cup and the Asian Games. He was judged the best spiker of the Asian Club Championship in the 2022/2023 season.
Now Manavi’s transfer to the Tuscan team is taking shape. “I have known Emma Villas for a few years, ever since Marouf played in Siena,” says Manavi. “I believe it is a club that has long set ambitious goals, and that wants to grow even further. This is also demonstrated by the new project created and implemented together with Santa Croce sull’Arno. I have played against this team several times, including last year when I wore the Catania jersey. I believe I will find an excellent organization and very strong teammates.”
Manavi has already spoken with coach Francesco Petrella: “I have already met the coach on the court, as an opponent,” says the spiker. “We spoke, he is a very intelligent coach and knows volleyball really well.
