From the Italian training camp in July to a call-up for an event that is even more important. Gabriele Mariani, a 2005-born setter from Plus Volleyball Sabaudia, will be part of the Italian Under-21 national team that will compete in the World Championships scheduled for August 21st to 31st in Jiangmen, China.
“We are honored to have such a promising young player on the roster, and we will all be following his development closely, hoping he can contribute to the national team. We look forward to seeing him get his chance as soon as possible,” said coach Stefano Beltrame.
For the young Pisan playmaker, who joined Sabaudia this summer, this is a prestigious achievement that confirms the value of an athlete capable, despite his 20 years, of gaining significant experience in the Superleague with Monza and in Serie A2 with Palmi, before arriving in Sabaudia.
“We are proud of Gabriele, and this call-up is well-deserved recognition for the commitment and talent he has always demonstrated,” added sporting director Paolo Torre. “It’s a strong signal for our club: it means the path we’ve taken, focusing on quality young players, is the right one.”
