A third consecutive season that will finally (hopefully) see him at his best, after the trials of a long injury. Despite a first season that ended almost midway through, Simone Marzolla scored 462 points for ErmGroup Altotevere, including 27 blocks and 24 aces. An undoubted quality player in the Credem Banca Serie A3 championship, the Venetian opposite hitter (26 next November) is looking for definitive recognition in the white and blues, now that he knows he’s fully recovered. “I worked all summer,” he says, “to get to the preparation phase as best as possible from day one. Am I 100% recovered? It’s not that you know if you are or not; more than ever, you feel that your body is doing well, and then you go. One more reason to say: I’ll give it my all to give my best.” Marzolla isn’t too forthcoming when it comes to predicting the team’s performance: “Equaling or even surpassing last season’s results will be a difficult task,” Marzolla explains, “although in my opinion this year the players have been chosen very well based on what they can contribute. Right from the start, I noticed a high level of training: it’s a lot of work because everyone has a great desire to play.
