After a few weeks without official commitments, Sonepar Padova is getting ready to return to the field for the first day of the play-offs for fifth place. On Sunday 6 April, at 6:00 p.m., the black and white team will face Valsa Group Modena away at the PalaSport G. Panini. The match will be broadcast live on VBTV.
The team led by coach Jacopo Cuttini faces this new phase of the season with a clear objective: to combine competitiveness and valorization of the group. “In recent years we have always seen the 5th place play-offs as an opportunity for growth and valorization of each athlete on the roster”, explains the black and white coach. “We want to be as competitive as possible, but also give space to those players who have had fewer opportunities during the season. It’s a choice we make every year. It’s right and proper to give value to these guys, recognize their commitment and test their growth in a competitive context”.
Sunday’s opponent will be Modena, who, especially at home, can prove particularly tricky. “Modena has a high-level team and, especially in front of their own fans, they can be even more fearsome,” adds Cuttini. “Our main focus will have to be on their serve, which is very effective. We will take to the field with a different setup than the regular season and this will be a test for our reception system. However, facing teams of the caliber of Modena, Milan and the other opponents will allow us to understand the level of preparation and the potential of the boys.”
