Saturnia Acicastello ssd arl announces that, with the end of the 2024/25 sports season, its journey in the A volleyball series comes to an end.
After five years spent between the A3 series, Superleague and A2 series, the company has found that, at the present time, the economic conditions no longer exist to support the weight and burden of a top volleyball path, which has increasing costs year after year. The economic support model, which has accompanied the company in these five seasons, has already suffered this year, and no longer guarantees the conditions of feasibility and sustainability.
Big investments are needed, which Saturnia is no longer able to guarantee, mainly taking into account the responses that come from the economic fabric.
As fans of our sport, we hope that other realities can bring our Catania volleyball movement back to the top; and that the territory can be alongside these new top experiences with continuity, passion and participation, without falling into the error of believing that having a team in Serie A is a must, or something to be taken for granted, because it is not so.
Saturnia Acicastello will continue its activity with the volleyball school, with the youth sector, and with other activities that will be defined in the coming weeks.
