After their debut in the second phase of the Championship in Modena, the black and whites of Sonepar Padova return to play in front of their fans. On Sunday 13 April, at 4:00 pm, the Kioene Arena will host the match between the Paduans and Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, valid for the second day of the play offs for 5th place in the SuperLega Credem Banca 2024_25.
“The team is continuing to prepare according to the plan that we have defined for this phase of the season”, explains coach Jacopo Cuttini. “We are working on a new configuration, with a new sextet compared to the one seen during the regular season. There are several guys who are showing off in training and who also started to do so in the match in Modena. We will continue on this path: our weekly focus is to give energy and confidence to this new structure”.
Today’s opponent will be Grottazzolina, already faced three times this year between the Championship and the Dubai Tournament. “With Grottazzolina there have always been battles. We remember the first leg well, won by us in the tie-break with a dramatic and hard-fought finale. In the return match, however, we were unable to keep up with their level of service and the important numbers they manage to express in attack. Even in Dubai, in the semifinal, we were unable to get the upper hand. The goal now is to even the score”.
