Middle blocker Gianluca Galassi, opposite hitter Alessandro Bovolenta, and libero Domenico Pace, players from Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, will be playing with the Italian national team in the third stage of the VNL, scheduled for Ljubljana, Slovenia, from Wednesday, July 16th to Sunday, July 20th.
After a week of training in Cavalese, coach Ferdinando De Giorgi has released the list of 14 players called up to travel to Slovenia for the final stage of the VNL intercontinental phase.
After the strong results achieved in the first two weeks of the Volleyball Nations League in Quebec City and Chicago (6 wins out of 8 matches), the Italian team will resume their journey towards qualification for the Finals in Ningbo, China, scheduled for July 30th to August 3rd, in Ljubljana.
On Monday, July 14, the men’s national team will depart from Venice and travel by bus to the Slovenian city, host of the third and final week of the VNL 2025, which will be crucial for qualification to the final phase of the tournament.
The Italian team will make its debut in Slovenia on Wednesday, July 16, at 4:30 p.m., against Serbia. The Azzurri will then face Ukraine on Thursday, July 17, also at 4:30 p.m., before playing against hosts Slovenia on Saturday, July 19 (the Slovenian team’s Scout Man is Antonio Mariano) at 8:30 p.m.
