Alva Inox 2 Emme Service Porto Viro completes its setter department for the 2025/2026 season with the purchase of Nicola Mazzon. The 2003-born setter, formerly of Vidya Viridex Sabaudia (A3), will work alongside his namesake Zonta, also a new black-fuchsia addition.
Originally from Venice, 203 centimeters tall, Mazzon is a product of the flourishing youth system of Volley Treviso. He wore the orange and black jersey for five seasons (from 2017 to 2022), distinguishing himself both at youth level – in 2022 he won third place at the Under 19 National Finals and the award for best setter – and in the category championships, with one year in Serie C and two in Serie B.
His first experience in Serie A3 was in 2022/2023 at Volley Team Club San Donà, where he worked with the current deltino head coach Daniele Moretti. In 2023/2024 he moved to Fano, still in A3, contributing to the promotion of the team from the Marche. Last summer he moved to Sabaudia, with which he obtained qualification for the promotion Play Offs. In the Regular Season just ended he scored 38 points, 20 of which were blocks: a figure that places him in fourth place among the setters in the category with the most blocks and among the ten most prolific overall in the role. Overall in Serie A he boasts 83 appearances and 117 points scored.
