Italy’s campaign at the Under-21 World Championships in China concluded with a silver medal. The Azzurrini lost the final 3-1 against Iran: Modena Volley’s middle blocker Pardo Mati scored fourteen points, including eight in attack, four blocking, and two serving. The young Gialloblù player will now have a few days of rest before returning to the city to serve coach Giuliani.
Fifth place went to France, who defeated Poland 3-1 in the 5th-6th place final: Amir Tizi-Oualou scored six points (three in attack and three serving), and is expected in Modena in the next few days after a brief break following the recently concluded competition.
