With exactly one month to go until the start of the Serie A3 championship, Plus Volleyball Sabaudia continues its journey toward the official start of the season. Their debut will be at the PalaVitaletti in front of their home crowd, against Terni, and yesterday’s joint practice with Sviluppo Sud Catania, a Serie A2 team, was a valuable test for the coaching staff.
After practice, the two teams played a four-set match, with the Sicilian team prevailing with scores of 30-32, 15-25, 16-25, and 12-15. Coach Stefano Beltrame started with Mariani as the setter, with Onwuelo as the opposite hitter, Panciocco and Soncini as the spikers, Pilotto and Stufano as the middle blockers, and Rondoni as libero, before deploying the entire squad throughout the match.
“It was a great match. Our opponents gave us a hard time, but we held our own against a team from a higher division than us,” Beltrame commented. “In the first set, which we lost 30-32, we played good volleyball, although we then felt a bit tired, which is completely normal in this period. If we want to compete at a high level in our league, we must always stay focused and work without giving an inch.
