A true pillar of the team but also and above all an idol of the fans of Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina who lived a wonderful life experience in Dubai, immediately after the end of the regular season. We are talking about Michele Fedrizzi, spiker and leader of Yuasa who in the post season played together with his teammates in the Dubai International Tournament, also to prepare for the playoffs for fifth place. The experience of the Dubai Tournament (closed with the second place behind Dynamo Moscow) was the turning point because Fedrizzi was contacted, through his agent, to play the last part of the season with the jersey of Al Nasr of Dubai, in the championship of the United Arab Emirates. Eight teams at the start for a level of volleyball that Yuasa crossed paths with during the tournament.
“We returned from Dubai on Friday 22 March with the team,” says Fedrizzi, “but in reality I left the following Monday, just enough time to prepare everything from a bureaucratic point of view. A reality that is certainly profoundly different from ours and in which it is necessary to adapt correctly to their way of living and understanding sport.” The return to Italy took place in the last few hours, two months but three competitions played, one of which won. “First we played the playoffs: in the final we were beaten 2-0. At that stage the club opted to change the coach and it was not easy to adapt to prepare for the imminent Super Cup, a tournament that in fact went badly.
