Marcelo Mendez’s adventure as coach of the Itas Trentino men’s team effectively began this afternoon. Arriving in Trento on Tuesday directly from the Philippines, where he concluded his long-term stint as Argentina coach on Sunday, the new Gialloblu coach had to wait less than twenty-four hours before leading his first training session at the BTS Arena.
He will be officially presented to the press and fans next week, after a few days of getting to know the Trentino environment and the players already available, whom he will test next weekend in a double friendly against the German team ASV Volleys Dachau. Also joining the group today is German Simon Torwie, the first athlete returning from the World Championships to arrive in the city and get straight to work.
